Information about Little Big Man
excerpt from Modern Mrs Darcy Eighth Life Forum:
Book Three was very tough – WW II in Russia was horrific. The Kitty story was especially brutal. I found myself looking up a lot of the history – I had thought it was the Germans who shot the Polish army. But the history is right on based on real events – little big man is based accurately on an historical figure Lavrentiy Beria – here is the link – he was a depraved murderer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavrentiy_Beria?wprov=sfti1 According to this article after he fell out of favor when Stalin died and was executed the facts of his raping women was made public. The author has well researched her novel, and the writing is heartbreaking |

Click the image above for the edition/translation of the book that I am reading. You don't have to have this edition to join us. I chose this one because it won a translation award. If you have an edition with notes that may make reading it easier.
